Always check the website or Facebook page of local eateries before your heart is set on going - many close at 9 p.m. ET.  Sometimes they close early, just because... it's just the beach!

On the Cape

Peachy’s Beach Eats

Peachy’s is a quick service restaurant serving made to order food for lunch and dinner. Enjoy local shrimp and gulf grouper, BBQ pulled pork fresh from the smoker every day, sandwiches, tacos, nachos, shrimp and grits, and more! They offer outdoor self-seating and make the perfect stop for a quick and fresh meal on the Cape!  Note:  They only accept cash and you bus your table.

Weber’s Little Donut Shop

Like Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts? You haven’t experienced the best until you’ve had a fresh homemade donut from Weber’s Little Donut Shop. This place is legendary on the Cape, but it can be a little confusing for those who don’t know how it works. The shop opens up Tuesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 a.m. Yes, you read that right, 7:30 a.m.! Their donuts sell out FAST, so people line up early in the morning to get their famous homemade cake donuts. The shop closes at 11 a.m., or when the daily donuts sell out. It may be hard to wake up early on vacation, but if you like donuts, it’s worth doing at least one day! Before planning your donut day, we recommend checking the shop window for posted hours to make sure you don’t show up to a closed shop! Special hours and closing are usually posted outside the shop or on their website. *Carol's favorite is the 'Old-Fashioned'

Skully’s Low Country Boil

Located right on the Cape, Skully’s offers casual low country boil. In the mood for some shrimp, corn, and everything else that comes with a good gumbo? Then Skully’s is the place for you! The owners are a ton of fun, and make some GREAT gumbo. Check their Facebook page for hours when you’re on the Cape, and enjoy a great outdoor meal!

Cone Heads

Cone Heads offers seafood, burgers, pizza, soup and salad, ice cream, and a bar. It’s near the end of the Cape, by the entrance to St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. Be sure to look at their operating hours before heading down. And before or after your meal, why not enjoy some time at the park?  *Check reviews and hours prior to going.

The Sand Bucket Smokehouse and Grill

If smoked meats, burgers, and seafood sound good, then you can’t go wrong with The Sand Bucket. This casual family-friendly restaurant offers everything from BBQ ribs to salads and sandwiches. This is excellent BBQ, even by our picky Alabama standards.  It has been temporarily closed from time to time, so check out the Facebook page or give them a call.

Scallop Republic

Looking for drinks and a good time? Scallop Republic has Florida craft beer, wine, and live music, but if you’re hungry make sure you bring your own food, since they only serve drinks here - no food. But, don’t let that scare you away from a great time at Scallop Republic, opened Tuesday through Saturday!

Scallop Cove

Ice cream, pizza, gas, fishing supplies, rentals, groceries, beach toys, and souvenirs, you can find it all at the Cape’s one-stop-shop Scallop Cove.

Cape Tradin’ Post

If you need groceries, liquor, beer, ice cream, beach basics, or souvenirs, The Tradin’ Post is one great option right on the Cape.

St. Joe Shrimp Co.

Looking for fresh local fish, scallops, shrimp, lobster, crab, hushpuppies, and all the fixin’s? St. Jow Shrimp Company offers all you need for a seafood dinner, and will even cook your pick of fresh seafood for you in-store for lunch!  Call ahead for the fresh catch of the day and what time the steamer will stop.  Get your items steamed for free - just 5 minutes from the house.  We love the "House" blend of spices on steamed shrimp!

In Port St. Joe

Downtown Port St. Joe

From groceries and beach toys, to art galleries and local shops, if you’re looking for a great day out on the town, head over to downtown Port St. Joe, just a short drive from Cape San Blas!

Uptown Raw Bar & Grill

This is under new management recently and we haven't tried it, but have heard it is good.  Won't you let us know? Seafood & burgers on the corner.  Beers galore!

The View on Old 98

Fantastic view and vibe of the Cape from Windmark Beach -- just a few miles west on Highway 98, this newest restaurant has a great menu and cocktails.

Sand Dollar Cafe

Great, high quality lunch-time buffet, which changes daily.  These guys are deeply involved in the community.

Krazy Fish Grille

Great, family fun atmosphere and service.  Cocktails o'plenty and grilled grouper.  Roomy patio.

Provisions

Yummy Italian comfort food and some good wines.  Cool decor.

Peppers

Basic cheap Mexican, which you gotta have -- but also great folks and margaritas.

Joe Mama Wood-fired Pizza

Excellent salads and pizzas.  They are serious about closing at 9 p.m. ET

On Indian Pass

Indian Pass Raw Bar

It’s famous and now open – YAY!  At the end of 30E, turn right and it’s on your left about ~5 mi.  Usually a wait on the porch with fun local entertainment, so be sure to take your sunscreen and insect repellent (you are near the lagoon).

In Apalachicola

There are so many lovely shops, art galleries and clothing stores in Apalach.  We always make time to go do some Christmas shopping year-round with our favorite OCBC in a hand.

Oyster City Brewing

One of our faves; good people and good brews.  Pets allowed.Open container while walking.  Watch that Mango Grove or you will be "lop-sided" before you know it!

Owl Cafe

This is the best restaurant around.  A nice treat for a special occasion.  Carol love's the fried oyster salad.

Tamara's Cafe

also very good.  Don't miss the duck confit fries.

Halfshell Dockside

Great the fresh grouper and sit right alongside the Apalachicola River.  Note - It’s too hot to sit outside during summer, but there's plenty of dining inside.  You will park in the Marina parking lot to access the restaurant.

Up the Creek Raw Bar

Upstairs on the back porch, you can sit and watch the boats on the Apalachicola River and teeming wildlife.  Best view in Apalachicola.  *Check reviews prior to going.

Hole in the Wall Raw Bar

The staff are totally sarcastic jokers, so take your sense of humor.  Can you find your Alma mater's hat on the wall?  War Eagle!

Apalachicola Chocolate Company

Carol’s fave is the chocolate gelato and Eric is a pistachio kinda guy – you deserve it!
